We left home Monday, December 28, 2009. At least this year we didn’t have 18” of snow to deal with while we were loading but, again, it seems downright weird to put food in the refrigerator which is 40° while the inside of the trailer is about 37°.
Spent our first night at the 7 Feathers RV Resort in Canyonville, OR. Very foggy from Salem to just south of Roseburg. Blue skies and sunshine at the 7 Feathers RV Resort. They say the bad weather is moving in tomorrow. Hope we can get out of here before it gets bad. Just discovered what we forgot – the remotes for the satellite receiver and the small TV in the bedroom. There’s always something.
December 29 - Skeedaddled over the Siskiyous today just ahead of a storm. Weather was cold and we had to get over the summit before noon. Patches of snow alongside the highway and a few little white flakes falling here and there. Dense fog in some places too. But we made it with no problems.
We hear the folks back home got an unexpected snow storm with several inches of snow. Sure glad we’re here, even though it is raining.
Passed the “Heaven on Earth Restaurant” in southern Oregon near Ashland. And, in case you were looking for it, Easy Street is in Yreka, California Exit 775 off I-5.
We are parked at the Durango RV Resort in Red Bluff and we found a DISH Network store to buy a new remote. Yea! We are going to need that satellite TV eventually.
December 30 - Tonight we are at the Kit Fox RV Park in Patterson CA. Nothing much here but a good stopping place between Red Bluff and Bakersfield. We had sunshine and temps in the upper 50’s through the Sacramento valley.
